Holistic Lawyer
Philip J. Daunt, Esq.
Philip Daunt is a business and real estate attorney and mediator who applies a “coach approach” to the practice of law. He works collaboratively with his clients to help them dig below the immediate surface of their legal problems and find constructive, creative solutions, transforming those problems into opportunities for personal growth and positive change. As a mediator, he helps the participants to focus on what is truly important to them and to achieve mutually acceptable resolutions of their disputes. As an arbitrator, he is fair and impartial, and takes the time to listen to the parties so that his awards are well-reasoned and sensible. This approach helps his clients to thrive in their businesses and in their lives and to navigate through legal problems with as little stress as possible.
Philip has been practicing law for over 25 years and providing mediation services for over half that time. After studying law at the University of Toledo College of Law (Juris Doctor Program) and being admitted to the Michigan bar in 1980 and the California bar in 1984, he has practiced in both large and small law firms and as a sole practitioner, and has worked with judges, arbitrators and mediators and with lawyers of all types. He is also an adjunct professor at the Monterey College of Law.
