Ever Been Overwhelmed?

Filed Under Law of Attraction | Leave a Comment

Usually when you feel overwhelmed, you’ve forgotten to ask the General Manager of the Universe to delegate, mediate, and create for you.

Do you ever try to do everything yourself? Is it because maybe you think no one else will do it like you do? Or you don’t consider it might be done more easily another way? Or you forget to consider that if it doesn’t feel good, then it isn’t in alignment?

Yet still, you tend to be a martyr, and you forget to get your mouth to say no even when your heart is saying no. Or you don’t understand that the angels/fairies/assistance of the Universe have been getting fat because you haven’t been employing them much lately?

Time for your “A-Team” to get some exercise, I think!

There are 4 ingredients to receiving miracles:

1. Ask. Remember to ask!
2. Let go of needing to do it yourself or needing to do it now!
3. Have faith. AND
4. Go do something you love to do, and appreciate what you already have.

Ah, sweet relief. I just love my A-Team!

I surrender as GM of the Universe. Do you?

Even Better Than You Thought!

Filed Under Law of Attraction | Leave a Comment

I remember back in “the day” (I don’t know what that means, but let’s just go with it), I had very specific dreams about what I thought I should be doing. My life does not look much like my dreams right now. Am I bummed? Nope.

Your specific goals and dreams aren’t as important in quantum physics and to the Universe as the intent behind the dream. If you are looking for a way to fully self-express, find joy, love your life, enjoy the ride, make a difference, or feel as much bliss as possible, then let the Universe deliver how that happens.

You figure out how you want to feel. Then let the Universe figure out the best way to have that happen. It’s awesome to dream, but leave room for reality to show up even better!

You see, in your limited mind, there are only a few avenues to bliss. In the Universe’s consciousness, there are thousands waiting just for you!

Try this: When you speak your dreams, goals, and intentions to the Universe, add “or better” to the end of every intention. Leave room for miracles!

The One? Or The Clarifying One?

Filed Under Law of Attraction | Leave a Comment

Yesterday I had a discussion with a woman about her relationships with men. She asked me how she could get rid of the confusion she had about finding someone special. My answer applies not only to finding “somone special” but also to finding a new job, friends, lovers, or work colleagues, so I thought I would share.

People, jobs, projects that come into your life are either what I call “THE ONE” or “THE CLARIFYING ONE.” Everyone does come into your life for a reason—but not for you to fix them. They come into your life because they are either the one you are looking for, or the one who will clarify more about the one you are looking for. If you can see your experiences that way, it will make life so much easier. Let me show you what I mean:

1. THE ONE—You know when something or someone is “it” when everything flows, solutions happen easily, joy is present, there is no struggle, serendipity occurs, and you feel supported and at peace when you think about it/them.

2. THE CLARIFYING ONE—Anyone or any event in your life that you struggle with is not quite perfectly in alignment: causes you to think, challenges you, or doesn’t quite go smoothly. Don’t attempt to change the clarifying one. That is not your job, for they are helping you clarify. And when you finally do get clear on what you want, either they will change and harmony will abound OR it will be time to move on! These people/situations are there so you know a little more of what you want and are clearer on what you don’t want.

By the way, you wouldn’t want your dream to come to you without being totally clear on the full picture, would you? It’s interesting how we like to be impatient when the clarifying ones come along, instead of choosing to simply be clearer.

The one and the clarifying one have equal benefit and contribute to you equally. See if you have been beating up on someone mentally for being the clarifying one—and then stop beating up on them. They are helping you, for goodness sake!

Beyond the Belly: Fitness for the New Mom

Filed Under Fitmom Wellness | Leave a Comment

No other day in life quite compares to the day you bring home your new baby for the first time. The knowledge that the beautiful little person laying in your arms comes from you can be so rewarding, but at the same time, very overwhelming. Those first months bring you (and by you, I mean all moms!) great joy, extreme exhaustion, and very little time for yourself. Just the very thought of throwing exercise into the mix may push a new mom over the edge.

But you can incorporate exercise into your routine. Here are some tips for getting started:

Postpartum Recovery (the first 2-6 weeks)

Note: Moms who’ve had a Caesarean or traumatic vaginal delivery, please consult with your doctor before proceeding any exercise program. A good postpartum recovery program may look include the following but will vary based on need. Consult a certified perinatal fitness specialist.

Exercises

1. Pelvic Floor/Kegels—These muscles (the ones you use to control your pee) lose elasticity during pregnancy due to pressure from the growing fetus as well as from stretching during vaginal birth. Try 2–3 sets of 20, holding each muscle contraction from 1–2 seconds, increasing the length of time as your strength improves. These exercises are crucial to regaining the strength of these muscles and avoiding incontinence. Begin these exercises soon after delivery to increase circulation and promote healing.

2. Adductor/Abductor—Begin by lying on your side, resting your top leg in front of the bottom. Lift the bottom leg up and down slowly for 3 sets of 20. Do the same with the top leg. Afterwards switch sides. (This is a great exercise to do while breastfeeding in a side-lying position.)

3. Shoulder Rotation—This area is a source of stress for mothers due to muscle lengthening as a result of increased breast size and breastfeeding postures. Try this exercise while sitting. It will remind you to correct your posture and strengthen this muscle group at the same time. Lift your shoulders and rotate them backwards, then squeeze your shoulder blades together. Drop back to normal position and repeat. Try 3 sets of 20.

4. Abdominals (Isometric)—Breathe in and with a forced exhalation, suck in your abdominals. Hold your abdominals (not your breath) in this position for 3 seconds, increasing to 10. Try 3 sets of 20.

5. Pelvic Tilts—Lie on your back with your knees bent. Press the small of your back into the floor while simultaneously lifting your pelvic bone towards your belly button.

After Your Postpartum Check-Up

Once you’ve been seen by your physician for your postpartum check up, you can now begin a more challenging fitness program.

The best solution is to find a program you can do with other moms. This will provide a network of support for you and socialization for baby. An exercise program that is designed just for moms and new babies should address general concerns related to being a new mom as well as fitness-related issues.

• Make sure your class is led by a certified fitness instructor who has experience with prenatal and postnatal women.

• Be kind and gentle to yourself.

• Remember that breastfeeding requires approximately 500 additional calories per day and exercise requires 100–150 per ½ hour of vigorous exercise.

• Consuming quality calories will provide your baby best odds while also providing you the nutrition and energy needed to be a busy new mom.

• Get adequate rest by going to bed early. Discipline in this area will help you feel better.

Most importantly, take it one day at a time!

Cheers,

Laser Dentistry

Filed Under Wellness Based Dentistry® | 1 Comment

We have been using lasers since 1992. In certain situations, our soft tissue laser removes excess gum tissue to prevent gum disease, as well as releasing tongue ties or other restrictive muscle attachments. It also recontours gummy smiles and enhances cosmetics.

The best part of the laser is that it is painless, with minimum discomfort and no bleeding. There is no “packing” or restrictions to your diet. It truly is a tool of the future in dentistry. If you get mouth sores, our lasers also alleviate the spread of herpes lesions and eliminate pain from apthous ulcers.

Worn edges of front teeth can be reinforced with the tooth-cutting laser. This slows down the wear and eliminates rough edges.

Our newest addition is the laser which is able to remove decay. Instead of the noise and vibration of the conventional drill, we now use the quiet, touchless laser to remove old white fillings and new decay. Most of the time there is not even a need for an anesthetic because it is so painless. However, this laser does have its limitations and cannot be used to remove old amalgam fillings.

FreeRice: Get Smarter and Feed the World

I came across this fun website that tests your vocabulary and donates 20 grains of rice for every word you get right: www.freerice.com.

Oh sure, they do picture white rice on the site, but I like to imagine it’s brown or red or purple… so many kinds of whole grain rice out there! Try a new one the next time you visit a health food store with a good bulk section. And keep it in the fridge or at least a cool place so the oils in your whole grain rice won’t go rancid.

Manage the Ocean? Or Grab a Surfboard?

Filed Under Law of Attraction | 1 Comment

The world, your life, and your body are in constant change. If you want to get really really tired, try to control them. If you want to enjoy your life, grab a surfboard and catch the wave!

Times they are a changin’? So are you! Whether you like it or not, you are changing. Why? Because the intentions of the masses have shifted toward a huge desire for peace in our bodies and on the planet. So many people who tell me they “never get sick” are now (from their perspectives) getting sick. It is more likely that their cells are excavating the inconsistent vibrations from their bodies. This can occur like a fever.

But I digress. About dealing with change:

New waves of possibility for your health, love, career, world peace, and the environment are coming all the time. Is it time to grab a surfboard? Or are you going to keep trying to control the ocean? That sounds like so much work.

Let’s consider that for the past few decades you have set into motion the desires, intentions, dreams, and goals that have been beating in your heart and mind. Physics/the Universe/God (or whatever you want to call it) has heard every word—and delivered all of them.

The only thing left to do is to have the experience of the miraculous unfolding. All you have to do it to stop “managing the ocean” and just grab a surfboard. Your wave is ready! And it will keep coming in, even if you missed it the first time.

Pretty soon, you simply won’t be able to manage the ocean any more. Freedom, peace, and flow will be the theme of the day. In the meantime, so many people (including maybe you) will have to start to let go.

So today, let your life take you miraculously to your path of most joy—even if you can’t see it yet.

We are in for an amazing ride. Wooo hooooo!

You Are SO Worthy!

Filed Under Law of Attraction | Leave a Comment

Your worthiness is not up for debate. Have you:

Held a baby?
Watched a baby sleep?
Played with a puppy or a kitten?
Seen a harvest moon or the stars on a clear night?
Heard birds singing?
Ridden a horse through the trees?
Looked at the sparkes on a lake?
Loved someone deeply?
Been loved deeply?
Breathed lately?
Gotten your daily supply of water? Electricity? Calories? Air?

The issue of your worthiness is not up for debate. Feelings of unworthiness come up because you have chosen to believe others’ opinions or your past about you instead of the Universe’s clear evidence that you have it all.

A Natural Approach to Diabetic Ulcers

Filed Under Dr. Zoltan Rona (MD) | Leave a Comment

Leg ulcers are one of the more serious complications of diabetes. Aside from various prescription creams and drugs, there are a number of natural strategies that can speed healing.

The most important thing to do is to optimize blood sugar levels. Get food allergy/sensitivity testing done because the consumption of allergic foods elevates blood sugar. Testing is most accurately done by the blood IgG4 RAST (see www.yorktestcanada.com). Then eliminate all reactive foods, sucrose (glucose and fructose together), and refined, simple carbohydrates (white bread, soft drinks, etc.).

Increase low glycemic index foods such as Jerusalem artichoke and legumes. Have regular high protein snacks. Avoid coffee, regular tea, alcohol, junk food, and tobacco.

Open two or more capsules of vitamin E (800 IU) and squeeze the contents directly on to the ulcers at least twice a day. Take the following natural supplements to promote more rapid healing:

Vitamins and Minerals:
(Please note: Prescription medication or insulin doses may have to be adjusted downwards. Work with a medical doctor who can monitor changes and prescribe accordingly.)

• Vitamin C: 2000–4000 mg

• Vitamin E: 400–800 I.U.

• Vitamin B3: 30–100 mg

• Niacinamide: 50–300 mg

• Vitamin B6: 25–150 mg

• Biotin: 3–20 mg

• Chromium (GTF): 200–3000 mcg

• Zinc: 20–60 mg

• Copper: 2–3 mg

• Magnesium: 500 mg

• Manganese: 10–50 mg

• Potassium: 3 g

• Vanadium: 100 mcg

Other Supplements:

• Quercetin: 1000 mg

• Coenzyme Q10: 400–600 mg

• Taurine: 3000 mg

• R-Alpha Lipoic Acid: 600–1200 mg

• Omega-3 Fatty Acids: 3000 mg three times daily

• Fiber (milled flax, psyllium, pectin, glucomannan, xanthum gum, alginic acid and/or guar): 3000 mg

• Pancreatin (digestive enzymes): 2 capsules three times daily

Hormonal Balancing for Fibrocystic Breast Disease

Filed Under Breast Health | Leave a Comment

Over the years I have had the pleasure and privilege of knowing Dr. Pettle, MD, a leading authority on bio-identical hormones. I have observed that the proper assessment of a patient’s hormonal levels utilizing blood, saliva, and urine testing should be done at the onset of treatment to establish a baseline and to clearly identify the hormonal imbalances that inadvertently contribute to breast abnormalities.

It is not surprising to see that most problems in this area are a result of estrogen dominance and progesterone deficiency. The use of bio-identical progesterone in the second half of the female cycle to balance the hormones has been proven time and time again to be extremely effective therapy.

Natural estrogen blockers made from cruciferous vegetables such as DIM and I3C along with calcium d-glucarate also proved their effectiveness over years of clinical work. European physicians have clinically used Lugol’s solution, a mixture of iodine and potassium iodine, for over 150 years.

Proper thyroid testing is also essential, since thyroid conditions usually precede breast disease.
