Positive Attitudes

The Chinese New Year arrived on Feb 17th 2007. Two weeks later, I happened to attend a seminar that discussed the Year of the Fire Boar (2007), and how it may affect various Chinese animal signs. I don’t follow Astrology - not the zodiac signs, and not the Chinese horoscope. However, I figured I would stay and listen to the renowned world expert since I was already in the room.

To my surprise - and delight - when I heard that my animal had a terrible year last year (Year of the Dog ? 2006), I was initially surprised since my year was actually pretty good. I wondered if the horoscope was wrong. However, upon further reflection, I realized that 2006 really was a trying year for me. There were significant set backs as well as unpleasant surprises. But why didn’t I consider it to be a probelm year for me? How come my memories of 2006 were good ones?

I realized that my positive way of thinking (by mentally converting ?negatives? into ?challenges? and ?creative projects?)helped make it a good year for me. Because I am open and willing to be guided by wisdom, any ?negative? events that came my way quickly became neutralized and instead I was able to enjoy many great rewards. Keeping a positive attitude helps me to continuously reap positive rewards.
