Faith vs. Anxiety
Filed Under Law of Attraction | Leave a Comment
I’m pretty sure that Faith is the opposite of Anxiety. I was thinking about it because today I was taking my dog to the vet for an infection he had, and I realized I had been worrying about it a lot – and my dog was picking up on it. I realized I wasn’t doing either of us any good by overworrying, so I forced myself to stop and reminded myself to have faith. Of course, once the anxiety and fear stopped, my doggy started to feel better.

What is Emotional Freedom Technique?
Filed Under Energy Work | Leave a Comment
EFT is based on the principle that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body?s energy system. Those repressed and unexpressed emotions find a way out through physical aches, pains, and diseases in the body. An energy flow is believed to be affected by those imbalances within the body. Gary Craig, founder of this technique, has a comprehensive website - www.emofree.com - where he explains the technique in detail. EFT supporters include Deepak Chopra,MD; and Norm Shealy, MD - author of Soul Medicine, a book which summarizes over 100 scientific studies, and dozens of medically proven miracle cures, that show how we, as individuals, have the power to heal.

How EFT Works: An Emotional Freedom Technique Review

Simple light tapping -or Acupressure - with the tip of the fingers on certain meridians (energy circuits) of the body can help attain a sense of relief after only a few minutes. At other times, perseverance is a must. The tapping is thought to provoke deep emotional changes because the ultimate cause of all negative emotion is a block, or disorder, in the body?s energy system. Repeated negative thoughts are seen as creating a disorder in the energy flow.
Those who use EFt actively participate in the treatment by focusing on the problem (or the original negative event), and then evaluating his SUDS (Subjective Units of Disturbance Scale) level from 0-10 - which means how much better s/he feels after they completed a round of tapping.
A score of 0 represents “no stress”, “pain” or “negative feelings” at all and 10 is the opposite. Most people will fall somewhere in between that range. The more one practices to do the sequence themselves, the better they become - and eventually do it on their own whenever necessary. Once rebalanced, the person should not be disturbed again by the same traumatic event, except if there is some aspect that has not been neutralized. Ideally, even though the person may try to get upset again, it usually won’t come to be since the memory of the event stays but the emotional charge which caused the pain disappears.

Wrinkle-Free Clothing
Filed Under In Our Opinion - Naturally Savvy Guides | 2 Comments
I was reading an article today on an upcoming popular trend - “wrinkle-free clothing“. It caught my eye because I really don’t like to iron. My mom tells me it “relaxes” her, but personally I can think of many other ways to relax. So, as I began to read the article, I quickly learned the secret of how this interesting new process works: “Soaking the fabric in formaldehyde and pressing it flat makes it wrinkle-resistant”, said a spokeperson for a women’s apparel company. This person went on to say “The molecules line up like little soldiers and remember where they’re supposed to be”. Personally, I prefer to refrain from ‘wearing’ chemicals on a regular basis since there’s a chance that my body may absorb them. Talking about ‘wearing chemicals’, for those of you who dry clean your clothes regularly, check out: www.naturallysavvy.com/earthly_matters/Dry_Cleaning_Tip.php.

Positive Attitudes

The Chinese New Year arrived on Feb 17th 2007. Two weeks later, I happened to attend a seminar that discussed the Year of the Fire Boar (2007), and how it may affect various Chinese animal signs. I don’t follow Astrology - not the zodiac signs, and not the Chinese horoscope. However, I figured I would stay and listen to the renowned world expert since I was already in the room.
To my surprise - and delight - when I heard that my animal had a terrible year last year (Year of the Dog ? 2006), I was initially surprised since my year was actually pretty good. I wondered if the horoscope was wrong. However, upon further reflection, I realized that 2006 really was a trying year for me. There were significant set backs as well as unpleasant surprises. But why didn’t I consider it to be a probelm year for me? How come my memories of 2006 were good ones?
I realized that my positive way of thinking (by mentally converting ?negatives? into ?challenges? and ?creative projects?)helped make it a good year for me. Because I am open and willing to be guided by wisdom, any ?negative? events that came my way quickly became neutralized and instead I was able to enjoy many great rewards. Keeping a positive attitude helps me to continuously reap positive rewards.

Say It Right

One of my clients asked me to help her practice “convincing” her husband to join her at a self-improvement seminar. She was afraid to ask him outright for fear he might scoff at or trivialize her suggestion - because after all, he wasn’t as spiritually aware as she was. She was in such a pickle over how to “say it right” that she practiced over and over again - but she was never content with how the words came out.
I suggested she take a few deep breaths to calm her mind. I then asked her to repeat the following mantra to herself (out loud or under her breath): “I am a good person. I mean the best for my husband. I have the intention to help my husband.” Then I asked her to visualize a happy outcome from their conversation. I told her that as long as she holds a pure intention that their conversation will be a WIN-WIN for both of them and that the outcome will bring them closer and open up his world to better options in his life, then she has done her job.
I told her that no matter what the outcome (whether he ended up going to the seminar or not), she should never be afraid of to make a suggestion that involves helping another person. The only hiccup that can arise is when the person making the suggestion (in this case my client) has a self-serving need to see changes that may not necessarily benefit the other person (in this case her husband).

Pet Food Recall
Filed Under In Our Opinion - Naturally Savvy Guides | Leave a Comment
I have a 2 year old Golden-poo named Oscar who my kids adore. He is very sweet and has beautiful silky, shiny fur. Ever since he was a puppy my husband insisted we feed him dry, natural pet food as the all-natural varieties of pet food are free of antibiotics, growth hormones and preservatives - ingredients which we (my family) try to avoid ourselves. With the recent press regarding the recall of millions cans of conventional pet food brands, it’s nice to see an increase in sales for the natural and organic pet food industry. We have had the pleasure of working with an all-natural pet food company over the years called “Lick-Your-Chops” and their owner, Michael Gagliardi, assures me that their natural pet foods are safe to feed. If you have any questions for Michael or would like to learn more about natural pet foods in general, feel free to call their 800 number at 1-800-542-4677. Or, you can check out their website at: http://www.healthypetfoodsinc.com/.
