How Does Homeopathy Work?
Homeopathy is essentially a natural healing process in which the medications assist the patient to regain health by stimulating the body’s natural healing forces. Homeopathy, therefore, is concerned with the whole person rather than treating the patient simply as a “bearer” of disease.
Homeopathic medicine is successful in treating a wide range of conditions, often after conventional medicine has failed. Prescribing is based on all aspects of a patient’s condition. Homeopathic doctors work in the same way as their conventional colleagues. History taking, examination and investigation are all important in establishing the diagnosis (understanding just what is wrong). However, homeopathic doctors consider a wider range of aspects of the patient’s condition, such as personality traits, physical features, the effects of a variety of environmental influences, patterns of disease within families, and family and social relationships.

We Homeopaths like to say, “Homeopathic medicine integrates well with conventional medicine”. Maybe because it might make it more palatable for the person who is undergoing conventional treatment to give homeopathy a try. If you are new to homeopathy there are exceptions to the rule, depending on your energy levels, or the strength of your immune system. Sometimes the super antibiotics knock out a remedy. If you are using a corticosteriod cream for a skin condition and you stop using it your condition may become much worse. If you are on a homeopathic remedy you will think that it is the remedy which caused the worsening of your symptoms, when in fact it was the result of the cortisone cream. Prednisone is another drug which may confuse the homeopathic picture, Therefore, it is really important that when you are on a homeopathic remedy you consult with your homeopath before doing anything in adjunct, and before adding a remedy to what other medicines you are currently taking.
